My take on sig making

SO I tried to make a sig, and first I made a simple siggy,

 

 

Short, simple, to the point, except for the part I had to render the image off the "spy_vs_sniper" update page, I took some tips from Huy-n's rendering tut and I think it ended up pretty well, after that I slapped on some text, a 1px white border and a black gradient and a background white gradient. but I wanted to add something '007ish' like some awesome cool ass random thing to go around my image.

 

 

It didn't look right with the bright glowy fire thing in the darkness so I flowed the fire's path with a soft eraser brush that was set to the gradient to make it have a slight glow effect in the darkness.

 

 

I thought it ended up good but I think it's too flashy, any suggestions, tips, critique?

I think the plain one looks alot better than the 2nd and 3rd.

Some suggestions would be to add some sort of background to the picture or use some brushes to try and make the picture actually "pop".

and as raven sed, background would make the spy better

I usually add a backround but I wanted to make it look like he's coming from the darkness.
