Petition to bring back old admin app system

This is the internet, if I wanted to I could make myself out to be a woman if I wanted to and could pull it off quite easily. Anonymity online my good sir. I don't know who you are, you don't know who I am? How the fuck can you tell if someone is a good person or a bad person? You wont until they are finally weeded out for what they are. Heck look at someone like Paladin, he had the power to perm ban without higher approval as well as moderation rights over this forum, turns out he was an ass.

 

There are a few people that I've watched because I had suspicions of foul play but you can never tell who's going to bring themselves out as an asshole.

 

And for the record, Fuze wasn't actually a bad admin. His admin was never removed was it?

Then howcome ive yet to be wrong??? Also Paladin was one of the best admins we've had, it was unfortunate that we couldnt have gotten rid of the real problem faster.

This is a petition to bring back the old admin application system.

The new way IMO is a horrible idea, i know that it is bringing money into this community, but most of the supporters who apply (no offense) are power hungry, and only get supporter in order to get admin. The tag supporter now basically means wannabe admin, in the old days the supporters bought supporter to Support the community, not to get admin.

 

Another flaw in this system is that only admins and supporters vote on these apps, and some supporters say yes to apps just to get a vote for their app. If we are a community why don't the regs, mems and hons get a say in who gets and and who doesn't.

 

Also, we've gotten some crappy admins outta this system (ex Fuze and Sneezing panda), however we have gotten some good ones as well (ex Thatguy, elleon, awacs, ms.blargh, GT ect )

 

Please people do not Flame this thread, if you support getting the old admin application system back post your name and i will add it to the list.

I actually called that one. Its all fine until someone is an ass to other people before they agree with you. Being an ass isn't necessarily the problem unless it gets out of hand, which it most certainly does with the current crop of people on both sides of the table.

 

 

If this petition will actually be considered by the higher ups, then I support it. I don't think it should be cast aside as another one of those spur of the moment internet petitions. We could do without a lot of those wannabe admin apps.

While I do agree with bringing the old way back, I do also agree with Daze here. No matter what goes on here, we can't please everyone. A lot of admins that got in the old way, aren't exactly good admins either. But either way, we weed them out. If your really a bad admin, you'll be caught. I think maybe leave it the way it is, just let EVERYONE post and vote on the applications, leave the application open longer and bump the amount of votes needed up to like 40 if we let everyone vote.
