And isn't 2012 just when the mayan calender ends? Why do people think it is the end of the world, when they probably just saw no reason to go more than a few thousand years into the future. Lol.

 

A combination of leprosy and something like rabies will infect someone. Their skin will deteriorate to look zombie like, and they will spread it by attacking others (like rabies).

Classical zombie case, but potentially actually real, with real viruses.
