Any respectable cs player will know that tapping your strafe key several times while running foward increases your speed from about 250 to 255 meaning u get about 1 metre in front...

If you've got a straight wall then you can run faster than normal by running into the wall at an angle. If 0 degrees is walking straight forward then maybe turning around 20-25 degrees towards the wall and walking forward into it will cause you to go 270-275~ish.

they all run at the same speed. the only weapon that moves a bit faster then everything else is scout.

The secret is tapping your left/right key several times a second. If you turn on cl_showpos 1, you'll notice that your speed goes up by very little if you tap left/right. So people turn sideways, tap their sideways key several times a second, and move faster then everyone else.

 

And just for you Jaffa, you can run faster with a knife then with a scout, using this method. But if the person you're racing also uses this, he's blow you away. =P
