Hey everyone,

 

Been meaning to make this thread for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. Cleaning up the main SG Discord comes up every couple of weeks and I personally want to give it a bit more attention. This thread is your place to dump any suggestions you have for the Discord server. And by anything, I mean anything, new bots, remove certain channels, add channels, different rules, etc. This way I can do whatever I can but anyone else with access to edit the server can also hop in and take your guys' suggestions and work on them.

• Remove ability for anyone to put images in #general. - Keep it strictly text only. Images allow for spam and make it seem like it's a shitpost channel instead of general discussions.
  
• Remove all CA+ Voice/Text channels.
  
• "JUSTBOTTHINGS" --> "Bot-Commands"
  
• "meme-shit" --> "spam-central"
  
• Create "Interests" text channels" - Move #Sports #Anime to Interests.
  
• Change Welcome to public for all and put the rules and all the other shit in #rules into #welcome.
  
• Make another channel for CAs to do the shit that they do in #Welcome.
  
• Merge #announcements and #news-feed. - Debatable but, #announcements is pretty barren.
  
• Create a #support and put it under "General Chat Lobby"

General chat should keep images else it won't be as enjoyable and discord-ish.

 

 

Why shouldn't pikajew be allowed to do a random post? It's easier to start conversation and overall try to engage with the community as whole. You should be able to think "Hey this image is pretty interesting or funny, I wonder how others will react to it?". That's how humans work, they yearn for human interaction.

IMO, it just makes us look super unprofessional. All that can stay in the meme channel but I don't think any of those should belong in the main text channel that all members will be seeing. It's spam, so it should stay in the spam channel.

Yes because our chat channel is so flooded and it breaks the flow of our constant ongoing conversations. I don't see the issue with images in general. If anything that one stupid spam meme can always spark a conversation. Right now it's just a barren wasteland.

Getting our server partnered with Discord isn't far-fetched at all. We'd need to grow the server to a larger size than it is currently, but "never going to happen" is a complete exaggeration.

 

Not arguing for or against the general chat thing, just pointing out the above.

Posting images aren't always spam lol. It'd be pretty annoying having a conversation in general chat and then posting a related image and having to say "yo go check out that pic i just posted in spam"

Imo, it wouldn't hurt to move it to spam central. People will post the same shit and general won't be nearly as crowded. And who knows, maybe we might get partnered one day. Having shit like that in our general chat definitely wouldn't help...

Lmao it's like the racism all over again, just because one idiot posted stupid image in general doesn't mean we should ban all images in general.
