Dominic Posted March 24, 2020 Content Count: 5608 Joined: 01/07/16 Status: Offline Share Posted March 24, 2020 Hello everyone, In the interest of marketability, racism will no longer be allowed on our Discord. It will be enforced the same way we enforce it on the forums, which is explained by the quote below: On the forums, we will continue to hold the policy that we currently have in regards to no racism, but not be as strictly punishing of it. The point of this is to keep a bit more of a professional look on our front end for possible sponsors, as well as be a bit more SFW - essentially, business in the front & party in the back. So while you may get punished for saying nigger, we probably will not punish for saying ape or ooga booga. Feel free to ask any questions. 34 Link to comment

Would it also extend to streams done through Discord? Such as Jackbox party, I know its silly to say that "without the n-word it aint funny", but having your speech restricted can sometimes make and break an event. 4 Link to comment

If the intent of the rule change is to increase marketability, I don't see why it should have extent to voice channels (unless potential sponsors are expected to be present in VC). Link to comment

But if the rule is no racism on the whole Discord why wouldn't it extend to voice channels? If their major reasoning behind making this move is increased marketability to outside companies/potential sponsors, it would only make sense to have that rule be consistent throughout the Discord. Not like anyone uses our Discord VC anyway... 6 Link to comment
