False, he has demonstrated proficiency in zombie escape.

 

running cl_showpos 1 only shows a slight increase in knife running which only can be realized in longer-straight aways

 

Running with your sidearm out allows for increased speed with the instant availability for firepower when needed. Yes hitting quick switch is fine but that few milliseconds it takes to switch to your weapon could be the difference between life and death.

 

Veteran escape players know the advantage of running with instant firepower capabilities over the knife, especially in close quarters maps (such as the OP's). Plus we all know how ridiculously long the zombies reach can be. I can't tell you how many times I've been saved by my sidearm when a zombie ambushes me.
