Child discipline. Too much?

Hitting with the belt is alright in my opinion, as long as it doesn't leave any lasting marks and whatnot. Different parents have different parenting methods and that should be respected to a certain degree. One of the first feelings you recognize in your child years is pain, which makes it an effective tool to learn what is right or wrong. You can say that this causes psychological trauma, but I don't think there's really a problem as long as your child knows you love them (ie take them to disneyland or the park every once in a while).
