You do realize there are Navy and National Guards where all the other troops are? Depending on your MOS, you can be stationed with a Marine company in Iraq.
QFT. My grandpa did that, just to keep it in his back pocket in case his kids / grand kids needed the appointment, and they actually became somewhat friends. That's how my dad and brother got appointed.
Marine Corps all the way for me! I sign up for delayed entry in about a year, hopefully I get cryptology as my MOS. I was thinking about being a sniper, but that might be too hardcore for me.
