Have you ever opened it up to dust it out? Also I used to get random restarts on certain maps with the same laptop you have. Apparently some graphics cards were defective. I was just too lazy to return it.

I used Vista on my friend's new PC and it just felt too bloated and a little slow and somewhat more convoluted to access stuff compared to XP. The only thing I want that Vista has is DirectX10. I installed XP on my new PC that I put together last month. Almost went with Vista, but I'm glad I stuck with XP. Especially considering the 3GB ram limit on 32 bit systems, and the fact that Vista takes about a gig to run on its own. With XP it only uses 300-400 mb leaving a lot more of my ram free for other stuff than Vista would.

Amen to that. Unfortunately it's also what's keeping me from going to grad school. Working 11-6 and not having tests/exams/papers is so much lazier than school. Granted I do want the pay increase that comes with another degree. Damn you lazy gods.

Or check out the case I'm using for my new pc. It only cost 54 bucks and it has uber fans, nice mesh metal front for good air circulation and nice screw-less drive bays too.
