OK, i was thinking.

If 1 (one) living organism of bacterium exists, and it multiplys every 20 minutes, how many will there be after 24 hours?

If thats easy, how about 1 week? Maybe for those intellectual people like havok 1 month?

Like, the actual number. I havn't actually worked it out, i will do soon though.

0 Minutes = 1

20 minutes = 2

40 minuites = 4

1 hour = 8

1 hour 20 minutes = 16

...

2 hours = 64

...

3 hours = 512

Post if you got the answer.

I got 4.722 x 10^20 for 1 day

5.237 x 10^150 for 1 week

and 1.678 x 10^650 for a month

I don't know if these are right, but I just used an exponential formula for this.

I do know Jazz is wrong though :p

For ONE MONTH:

x(t)=a*b^t/r a=1 bacteria, b=2 is the rate of growth t=43200 minutes in the month r= 20 min

so

x= 1 * 2 ^ (2160) (2160 is how many times the cells would divide in a 30 day month, or 43200/20)

x= 2^2160

x = REALLY BIG FUCKING NUMBER

I had to do it on my TI-89. The thing had to wait a second or two to calculate it. That is what I got, but I just used scientific notation on it so I wouldn't have to type out the entire string of numbers.
