Okay guys! Your are wasting your time.

There is a disk the you can boot your computer up with that will allow you to reset the admin password. You can even blank it out and not use one at all. I use it all the time on NT, 2000, XP. Just about everything above 98 including server editions. It is too big to post here, but if you want a copy, email me and I will make a image and zip it up to you.

In earlier versions on windows, if you boot the system to a dos prompt and look for a file with the PWD extension (I think, it has been a long time since I have done this), delete it or rename it. Then reboot the computer. When it comes up, you can just put what every you want.

Most computers, if you have the time, you can remove the cmos battery and boot the computer (older one). On newer one, they have a jumper you can set and bring the computer that will reset the bios password.

On laptops, if you remove the keyboard, somewhere close to the top of the keyboard, near the LCD is were you will find the cmos battery. Some laptops (HP) you have to have a backdoor password and you can only get that from them, at least the 510 you do. I haven't been able to find that one yet. Most others, you can find on the internet.

Then this, i think you need admin privilages tho so u mite hav to try and catch him with the computer on to do it,

Exclamation Windows XP Admins Password

Simple yet nasty!

This is a cool little trick.

Log in and go to your DOS command prompt and enter these commands exactly:

cd\

cd\windows\system32

mkdir temphack

copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr

copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe

del logon.scr

rename cmd.exe logon.scr

exit

You just told windows to backup the command program and the screen saver file. Then you edited the settings so when windows loads the screen saver, you will get an unprotected dos prompt without logging in.

When this appears enter this command that’s in parenthesis

(net user password)

So if the admin user name is ezpicker and you want the password 1234 then you would enter “net user ezpicker 1234″ and now you’ve changed the admin password to 1234.

Log in, do what you want to do, copy the contents of temphack back into system32 to cover your tracks.

Cool?

Broncoty's right.. simple google search and you should be able to find the boot cd to reset any windows xp password. Only problem is if there is a boot password or BIOS password preventing you from booting from a CD. If that's not set then your in.

I hate to bring this up. Please correct me if I am wrong.

my dad rebooted my computer

Assumption: It is actually his computer on which you have an account.

I mention this only because the legality of this thread may be questionable. As per forum rules, "Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed."

As a business owner, I deal with legal issues everyday. I just don't want the forum admins to get in trouble for this thread.

I hope that you get your computer issues resolved quicky Master Chief.

He is doing nothing illegal. He is just reseting his computer's admin password. The only thing that can be considered not legit is that it is his father's computer. I doubt that his dad is going to sue him if he finds out. Maybe beat him though : P
