Adding .psd format to signature

I see those guys make banners (beth and all these guys)

I can do this too, but can i add my .psd formats to my signature??

If not, in what format do i have to place it to keep my transparant background?

Yes they are.

 

And as MPQC said you should use PNG.

PSD files are what Photoshop uses for storing all the data directly linked into editing.. PNG format then again is format that stores transparency etc effects if you want those in your signature. Also PNG is far better quality than GIF, but GIF is used for animated images and so on..
