Well first of all this is a GanzFELD (not field) experiment, it lets you reach temporary blindness and an altered state of consciousness before giving you hallucinations. The Ganzfeld effect is when your mind see's a featureless monocolor and assumes your are in a blind state and cuts the signals to your eyes. You also, don't need a red screen to produce this, or white noise. Any color will do and a lack of sound.

 

EDIT: What you found Chobber is a way to trip yourself out, it has nothing to do with the Ganzfeld effect.

The first video (as well as the first post) is not really related to the real ganzfeld experiment anyways.. It is related to getting your mind into a state where you begin hallucinating and get a trip out of it.

It is true - the real ganzfeld is to disable some senses and therefor enhancing others.. We're not trying to get telepathic abilities or anything super-/subnatural - our only goal is to get a kick out of it and feel how your brain starts going off by itself..

 

I didn't even say that it was a ganzfeld-experiment - the movie I found..

The thing is that it is easier to relate these movies to the ganzfeld experiment rather than saying "this is a movie where if you look at it and listen to it you get a fake form of high"-movie, as it uses some of the same methods of getting your mind to the hallucination-state..
