I'm actually surprised something like this doesn't exist already. But anyways, what I am referring to is this: The Sixteen Personality Types - High-Level

There are 4 different "preferences" that you're judged on, which are put together to get 16 different personality types.

I found an easy quiz (which was accurate for me at least), but since it requires an email to see the results I figured I would just do the quiz instead. Whenever you match (as much as you can) to one of the options add that letter. You can only match 1 of the 2 for each section, which should be obvious considering they are opposites.

Example: I matched Introvert (I), Intuitive (N), Thinker (T), Perceiver (P)

I + N + T + P = INTP

So my personality type is INTP.

The Quiz

Extrovert(E) vs Introvert (I)

Extraverts often:

  • Have high energy
  • Talk more than listen
  • Think out loud
  • Act, then think
  • Like to be around people a lot
  • Prefer a public role
  • Can sometimes be easily distracted
  • Prefer to do lots of things at once
  • Are outgoing & enthusiastic

Introverts often:

  • Have quiet energy
  • Listen more than talk
  • Think quietly inside their heads
  • Think, then act
  • Feel comfortable being alone
  • Prefer to work "behind-the-scenes"
  • Have good powers of concentration
  • Prefer to focus on one thing at a time
  • Are self-contained and reserved

Sensor (S) vs Intuitive(N)

Sensors often:

  • Focus on details & specifics
  • Admire practical solutions
  • Notice details & remember facts
  • Are pragmatic - see what is
  • Live in the here-and-now
  • Trust actual experience
  • Like to use established skills
  • Like step-by-step instructions
  • Work at a steady pace

Intuitives often:

  • Focus on the big picture & possibilities
  • Admire creative ideas
  • Notice anything new or different
  • Are inventive - see what could be
  • Think about future implications
  • Trust their gut instincts
  • Prefer to learn new skills
  • Like to figure things out for themselves
  • Work in bursts of energy

Thinker (T) vs Feeler(F)

Thinkers often:

  • Make decisions objectively
  • Appear cool and reserved
  • Are most convinced by rational arguments
  • Are honest and direct
  • Value honesty and fairness
  • Take few things personally
  • Are good at seeing flaws
  • Are motivated by achievement
  • Argue or debate issues for fun

Feelers often:

  • Decide based on their values & feelings
  • Appear warm and friendly
  • Are most convinced by how they feel
  • Are diplomatic and tactful
  • Value harmony and compassion
  • Take many things personally
  • Are quick to compliment others
  • Are motivated by appreciation
  • Avoid arguments and conflicts

Judger (J) vs Perceiver(P)

Judgers often:

  • Like to have things settled
  • Take responsibilities seriously
  • Pay attention to time & are usually prompt
  • Prefer to finish projects
  • Work first, play later
  • Seek closure
  • See the need for most rules
  • Like to make & stick with plans
  • Find comfort in schedules

Perceivers often:

  • Like to keep their options open
  • Are playful and casual
  • Are less aware of time and may run late
  • Prefer to start projects
  • Play first, work later
  • May have difficulty making some decisions
  • Question the need for many rules
  • Like to keep plans flexible
  • Want the freedom to be spontaneous

There is a poll now, let's see the types of people in SG.

I remember doing this in psychology class! Surprised how accurate it is, though it is pretty vague (sometimes you are both).

Yea, I was like 50/50 between Judger and Perceiver. Originally I picked judger, but it didn't seem right once I looked at the description. Then I switched to Perceiver and it was scary accurate.

Of course you will think it is accurate. Every single personality type on the test makes the person sound awesome and special. Why would people disagree with something that makes them sound smarter or more competent than they actually are. This particular test only has two outcomes for each "level" of personality; as if a person can't "think" and "feel" at the same time.

Looking at both personalities at each level, aside from a few direct antithesis, I will probably agree with my result when either of the personalities is presented.

This is why almost every college (in the US at least) gives its freshmen some sort of a personality test to buff their confidence.

Myers-Briggs is retarded in my opinion.
