i know i need some cords but since this is the first time im building a computer i need to know the specific things i need

it happend this past saturday system restore or recovery wont work it loads up vista put doesnt bring up the main screen of it where you can select restore my computer install vista etc.

my vista files are coruppted and the recovery disk doesnt work. any suggestions? ive tried reseting to defaults like when start your computer and it has like hit F2 for setup menu and F12 for something else i tried the reset yo factory settings and it did nothign need suggestions.
