What the fuck?

Happens to me all the time with certain mics as well, I just chalked it up to being a sound card issue since it only happens when using any type of TRS connector but never occurs if I happen to use a USB sound device.

Errr, kind of confusing statement you have here. Does your mouse disconnect completely from your computer or only stop working IN steam? If it happens outside of steam as well, your mouse wires are shorting out or if it's a USB mouse, your USB port might be acting up. Only things I can suggest is, if it's USB switch to another USB port. If the disconnects happen everywhere, you can really only take apart your mouse and cut off the section that enters the mouse(the area where the wires probably enter the mouse then turn at a 90° angle) then solder the wires back together; or simply buy another mouse. If it only happens within steam, then idk what to tell you there. =/
