Btw water purifiers dont desalinize water. There would have to be a fresh water source to survive well..

Hmm..

 

-Some sort of knife, for cutting and crafting tools/weapons; also useful to help with shelter.

-A lighter with lots of fluid. But if that's not allowed, I'd bring a magnifying glass. Damn those get things hot for fires, and it never goes bad.

-Maybe a big blanket, so it can be used for shelter/warmth.

 

And Ramb0, you can boil water to desalinize it. Also, if that's not an option, build a pit collection for water, or collect it off of plants.

You would have to have something to collect the water back. Which would be difficult, survival without a fresh water source would be very hard.
