Also, even if you didn't realize if the email was fake or not, don't EVER trust the email. What's so hard about logging into paypal to verify that you have actually received the funds?

 

You'd know if it was legit or not if when you log in and "view details" of the transaction, it will say at the top "This transaction qualifies for seller protection" and will talk in some way about how you should remember to post the tracking # there and mark as shipped as soon as possible. So even if the dude reverses payment or his paypal gets closed, you'll get your money regardless.

 

Also, transactions outside of ebay are NOT always scams. UNSOLICITED transactions asking to deal outside of ebay when you've already posted what you want to sell to ebay, these are scam and should always be treated as such, by ignoring the email and moving it to your junk folder.
