She plays games like the sims, so she really didnt need much. I sold her my E1280 that for 25 bucks, and I decided to use that to get an E3200 from intel. This speedy little bastard can OC really well, due to it being a wolfdale. Using my G31 motherboard, which is not a good overclocker, I was able to reach 3.2 Ghz using stock cooling and only slight voltage increase. This chip is really good in any DX9 game, and some DX10. More demanding games though, and you would need a better GPU, which means you probably aren't looking at ~$50 CPU's. __________________________________________________ Testbed, My media server, or whenever the noobs in my house cant get on the laptop (gross, laptops, Yhuck): Motherboard: Foxconn G31MV-K Ram: 2x1GB Crucial, @ 900Mhz Video Card: HIS 4650 512MB Windows 7 __________________________________________________ Min 116 Max: 133 Avg: 125 Max settings, 1280 x 1024, 2XAA, 2XAF: Min 98 Max: 120 Avg: 109 __________________________________________________ CoD4 High setttings 1024 x 768, AA/AF off: Min: 45 Max 185 Avg: 81 High Settings, 1280 x 1024, AA/AF off: Min: 40 Max: 174 Avg: 71 __________________________________________________ GTA4 Medium settings 1024 x 768: Min 30 Max 65 Avg 48 Its playable Edited March 19, 2010 by `Pepper. I made that build for less than $300, and I am very satisfied. Edited March 19, 2010 by `Pepper. Link to comment
