Well nothing appears on the screen regardless of what i try to put on it? anyone know what might be wrong? Link to comment

Whoopsie Posted April 19, 2010 Content Count: 81 Joined: 03/02/10 Status: Offline Share Posted April 19, 2010 im trying to follow what they are doing here: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Basic_Construction to get a feel for the program but when i try to make a texture or put anything into the grid nothing appears.it just remains black. i see no lines no nothing and there is nothing invisible that i can click on. mapper Posted April 19, 2010 Content Count: 1563 Joined: 08/03/09 Status: Offline Share Posted April 19, 2010 Anyway, this guy explains it very good. What I say here is a bit the same as in the vid. In order to see you camera in your level, click on the Camera tool. Click once in your top level view and Make a block(with the block tool as explained in that tut); WAIT, make it in the middle where those blue lines go trough eachother and also in your top view camera. Now you can use multiple ways to move around your Camera in your level. Many people use the key "Z" and move around with their mouse. Or you could move around with your arrows. Link to comment

It's the problem with the camera, happened to me before. Here is what you do: click the camera tool Then click on your block. Move around with your keys (WSAD & arrows) And there you go!
