Wrong good sir, and I will tell you why. 420 was the time of day stoners would meet up and get high, and it started back in the 70's. It has nothing to do with a date, Hitlers Birthday, or Columbine. Its a time, and a way to talk about pot in front of authority figures undected (Or at least it was). Of course, who knows if the source I got that from is credible, but its a hell of a lot better than your fantastic explanation.
