I just get, Cannot connect to Steam network(well duh). I have steam set to where it auto-logs me in, so the password information should be stored on there. Is there a way I can connect to Steam Offline when I don't have internet connection? I really want to play back through Portal. Link to comment

The way steam's offline mode works is, when you exit, it check to make sure steam is up to date. If you exit steam, and it's not able to check, it won't start in offline mode. Link to comment
