Are these temperatures safe for my computer?

Is an AMD Phenom II X4 810 CPU @ ~57C, and a ASUS EAH5750 @ ~79C for over 12 hours an okay temperature? Or am I pushing it too hard?

They are both clocked at stock.

Are these temperatures safe for my computer? How about for a few days at a time at these temperatures?

Or am I going to fuck up my hardware?

Your CPU temp is fine. I'd be more worried if it went over 75C at full load.

As for your GPU, that's a bit high. Probably not high enough to do damage, but it might slowly wear it out. (I hope you mean it's 79C at full load. If it's anything other than full load, I'd try lowering that...)

I'm looking at my GPU temps right now (9800GTX+) and they're at 61 idle. With the counter strike video stress test, it hit 73. If I can find something to really push it, I will report back.

Yeah, at full load it's at 79-81 stable. Does not ever go more than 81.

Also lol 100 posts.

Edit: if you had an ATI GPU, I have a program that will do intense calculations (it's what I am running to get those high temperatures). No version exists for NVIDIA cards.

Ok, then you should be fine on both accounts. GPUs generally get much hotter since they run so many calculations at once, and are often more powerful than CPUs. I certainly wouldn't try overclocking that thing with stock cooling though. :toung:

My GPU runs @ like 90-100 degrees and nothing has happened so far..

Reminds me that I should probably clean it before it goes over 120C..

Must be dusty. x.x Did it always run like that?

Typically as long as your GPU doesn't go above 100C you should be fine. 90C - 100C is like a warning zone. 100C+ is like redlining your GPU. Don't want to go there for long (or at all really).

With that said my GPU would easily reach 80C from normal games and 90C+ from more demanding games. After I replaced the cooler with a third party cooler my temps dropped dramatically. Now I never go above 60C even on demanding games.

Modern GPU's are designed to take a lot of heat; like Red said triple digits is pushing it, if it becomes a larger problem clean out the case (dust bunnies kill hardware if left) and obviously make sure the fans are working properly, if not buy new ones..
