Or am I pushing it too hard? They are both clocked at stock. Are these temperatures safe for my computer? How about for a few days at a time at these temperatures? Or am I going to fuck up my hardware? Link to comment

As for your GPU, that's a bit high. Probably not high enough to do damage, but it might slowly wear it out. (I hope you mean it's 79C at full load. If it's anything other than full load, I'd try lowering that...) I'm looking at my GPU temps right now (9800GTX+) and they're at 61 idle. With the counter strike video stress test, it hit 73. If I can find something to really push it, I will report back. Link to comment

Also lol 100 posts. Edit: if you had an ATI GPU, I have a program that will do intense calculations (it's what I am running to get those high temperatures). No version exists for NVIDIA cards. GPUs generally get much hotter since they run so many calculations at once, and are often more powerful than CPUs. I certainly wouldn't try overclocking that thing with stock cooling though. Don't want to go there for long (or at all really). With that said my GPU would easily reach 80C from normal games and 90C+ from more demanding games. After I replaced the cooler with a third party cooler my temps dropped dramatically. Now I never go above 60C even on demanding games. Edited May 24, 2010 by SchmoSalt Link to comment
