Four years ago, AMD acquired ATI but left the name to live on due to its strong brand in the graphics space. Now those days are over, as the graphics division at the chipmaker is at its strongest This makes me sad every graphics card I've ever bought has been an ATI card.At least they're keeping the radeon branding around. I always knew they were on of the same but I didn't know that it actually bolstered sales. Kinda sad people that shop for graphics card and are thus likely to be looking for performance above all else would jump up and down because they learned a bigger brand name was behind them.
