If you're building an i7 rig there's absolutely no reason to settle for a low-tier card like a 5750.

Higher levels if you're interested.

$700 Overkill

As far as cases go, I'd suggest a midtower with good airflow, they're usually in the $75-125 range.

What pot said is right thats a shitty card for what your wanting to do!!!! Save money on the PSU by getting 650W you dont really need 850 unless you gonna OC and have multiple cards.. and even at that you prolly wont need that much

The 59** series are not only over priced but over size... these things are huge

Id buy the haf922 (you could go full tower to) and either the 5870 or nvidia 470 or 465 on tighter budget

TBH if you really want a decent gaming PC its better the lower the CPU performance and increase the GPU performance you might be able to save a couple hundreds by going i5-750 and get a nice card!! Or you have a lot of money and dont be cheap on the GPU!

Your CPU and GPU are completely unrelated in that one doesn't affect the other's performance (but having say a Radeon 5970 and an old single core CPU at 2.0ghz will bottleneck your system's potential).

It'd be a good idea if you posted your budget so we had something to work around.

you can order the haf922 with blue fans for 10 bucks more

^great case!

And yes you CPU and GPU have not really anything to do with each other except they share the same MOBO..

Most mobo use the same pcie x16 slot for the GPU so your good there

awesome case and blue :d

well my budget will be around 1100 or 1200 or maybe I can save buy cheaper stuff lol

CPU $190

Motherboard $150

RAM $90

PSU $110

or if you ever plan on getting a second GPU

PSU $230

Case $100

Total without the GPU so far is $640, cheaper option for GPU I'd suggest is

Radeon HD 5870 (Custom heatsinks) $365

Bringing your total to $1005

Or, hitting your price ceiling

GTX 480 (Custom heatsinks) $580

Total comes out to $1160.

Other thoughts, CPU cooler of course

$35 Arctic Cooler 7 basic option

or get it pimped out

$50 Tuniq Tower

+ 120mm fan

I'd suggest the former because you really ought to use 2 fans, but since the CPU has only one fan port you'd have to use a fan controller to avoid having them screaming at 1600 (which isn't too loud).
