If anybody ever wondered to virtual story of Gorillaz :

The story begins in 1997. Tusspot Stuart, known by everyone Stu-Pot, is a young teenager that lives only for one thing: the music, and especially for everything that relates closely to piano. No real ambition in life, he worked in what is his eyes heaven: Uncle Norm's Organ Emporium, a store of organs and pianos, where he is the number one seller.

Time passes until one day his life changed. Murdoc Niccals young hoodlum doubled a Satanist with poor hygiene, decides, with his band, to make a break into this store hoping to get all the equipment needed to start a legendary band. He tumbles in the shop window with his Vauxhall Astra and ... landed on poor Stu-Pot's left eye damaging it and immersing it in a vegetative state. Murdoc bail of 30 000 hours of community service and the obligation to attend and to "walk" Stu-Pots 10 hours per week. Murdoc began to focus on his new whipping boy when, by "an unfortunate coincidence," the teenager is injured while passing through the windshield during a car accident in a parking lot while Murdoc, driving the car involved, trying to turn 360 degrees.

And the miracle happens. While his right eye is also damaged, Stu-Pot regains consciousness, at which point he is flanked by a melancholic dark glance who, strangely enough, makes his success with the girls - which strongly dislike the offender. After all "this guy has a huge blank page instead of just a brain and chronic migraine, nothing to be as enigmatic, mysterious and cool! . Murdoc also decides to lead a more "peace and love" life which in his view, is to reduce the number of its traditional orgies in which he participates once a month. No longer able to dispense with Stu-Pot, he decided to hire him as a group member and makes him the pianist or the singer, while he held the position of bassist. Finding that Stu-Pot is a really a silly name, Murdoc renamed 2-D ( two cuts in his head caused the two accidents) , another result of two major accidents in his life. They then put together in search of a drummer.

Murdoc Russel meets a black American expatriate, in a record company. To understand how it ended up like that, he must return five years ago. In New York, Russell Hobbs, a boy from the middle class is removed from his private school where he studied because he was possessed by a demon. It then remains in a coma four years, until he was exorcised. Russell and his parents lived in Brooklyn where he will join a group of rappers. Hip hop saved his soul ... yet. At a drive-by shooting, all his friends are down. Russel appears deeply shocked and, sometimes, his friends use the body of Russell to express their artistic talent - especially the rapper Del, a blue ghost. Then his eyes turn white and he started rapping and making percussion as his friends reportedly missing.

The group now has its own drummer. So Paula, girlfriend of 2-D becomes the guitarist. But after a heated argument within the group, partly due to unsustainable charm Murdoc (who will inherit the occasion of a shattered nose, with Russell's fist accidentally slipped), it leaves leaving 2-D the latter in total despair, and the event follows the same question as always: how to find another guitarist? They decided to do as many British bands before them: place an ad in a newspaper (NME).

The same day, a FedEx package happens to them in Japan. When they open an amnesiac girl of ten years out, a Gibson Les Paul on the shoulder. After an incomprehensible presentation in Japanese, it attacks a few riffs on his guitar, ending with an impressive kick skipped. Stunned, the three musicians engage immediately. But just as they asked her name, she points her finger on her stomach and makes a thunderous "noodle", the only English word she knows. Thus it earns its nickname.

Sorry for bad english, i had to translate it since i only found it in french.

Wtf, Plastic beach is their best album. Have you heard Stylo? Empire Ants? Melancholy Hill?

I wouldn't go as far to say their best album but it has its hits within it. Plastic beach, Demon Days, D Sides, and Gorillaz. All have a bit of a different styles if you ask me so whatever floats your boat.

I had the complete opposite experience when I saw them this summer.. The show sucked!

Their new album is allright and has some potential hits, no doubt - but when you see Gorillaz listed as the artist you expect to see a huge animated show, as it is an animated band, and not 20 of their sailor friends and Snoop Dogg on a huge screen..

So disappointing that I left!
