Well, shocking to most hockey fans, Cooke didn't get suspend for it. Now emails are surfacing where Colin Campell (who is in charge of suspensions) calls a not named player a "faker" and a "whiner". And it doesn't end here. An NHL blogger (who leaked the emails) did some detective work with the emails. Campell described an incident that happened to his son (Gregory Campell, a former Florida Panther WHO NOW PLAYS FOR THE BRUINS) during a not specified game. Well, the only game that fit the situation was a Florida vs. Boston game in which Mark Savard was included in the penalty. Aha! So Campell was referring to Savard as a faker and then DIDN'T suspend Matt Cooke after the cheap shot. As many people know, I am first to jump on the sports conspiracy bandwagon, so..... opinions? http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Have-Savard-emails-exposed-NHL-s-Colin-Campbell-?urn=nhl-285531 Link to comment

You don't belong in this section. On to the topic. I don't see the major problem here. The hit was incidental, he was clearly just going for a big hit and the guy turned into him. To call the non-suspension a little biased is one thing, but calling him corrupt? That's just stupid. Link to comment

Savards been out for a while now and still seems to be recovering. It's like Roger Goodell suspending someone for a helmet to helmet hit and not suspending someone else for doing the same. If Goodells son played in the NFL and got into a fight with Player X, and a few days later Player X got knocked out from a helmet to helmet illegal hit by Player Y and Player Y wasn't suspended, that would cause a bit of controversy would it not? You ruined any argument you might have had by mentioning the way the NFL handles things. You want an NFL example? How about when Austin Collie got a concussion and he still hasn't returned. The players that caused it? They didn't get fined like other players that week or the weeks before. Why? Because the hit was unintentional. He was not hitting him to harm him, it just happened. Same thing on this hit, it doesn't look like he is trying to harm the player. Link to comment
