Corrections Academy

I'm finally starting my career but in Corrections and the academy starts on August 15th. Very fast..... but I had a feeling it was going to be that early anyway. But anyway, I'm wondering if 5.11 Tactical and Galls are the only places for equipment for LEO's etc or if there are anymore and also great prices for the rest of the items I need. The one I want to focus on the most are the boots that will last a while.

 

I'd have to find boots that are polishable leather, no reinforced steel/fiberglass toes

 

And if anyone had good reviews from certain brands, will be helpful too

I usually use govx cause they have better discounts for Vets, but LA police gear has a good selection as well. @Leon

As someone that does work in that field boots are the most important thing. I have 2 pairs of bates. The one pair I have had since I was hired, and they are still holding up a year and a half later.

Bates are pretty good, I'd definitely go with Bate Lites if you're gonna wear them. I always preferred Danners though; they're heavier and they lasted longer for me. A single pair of danners lasted me about 3 1/2 years. The only reason I had to kinda get rid of them was because they were pretty much fucked after deployment.
