  1. Glad I don't live in the US :lul:

    Same.

However, I'm scared that it'll affect other countires too. If NN is killed in the US, it'll lead to other countries like the UK to jump on the occasion. It'll fuck all of us.

Reddit is on fire right now.

  3. I think that's a pretty good idea. I also believe that it shouldn't be as advertised as it is right now. Its pretty common to see someone who is very unsure of the rules to see that there is a calladmin command and type it in chat when they feel that they were RDM'd when in reality they were fairly killed one way or another.

I can already tell that most admins don't respond to a calladmin requests. If we only allow people who have a firm understanding of the rules to have access to the calladmim command then they'll be able to have higher quality reports that admins will actually respond to.

Exactly, and it could solve a part of our problem here. Having an unreliable system isn't better than having none, it's even a bother/source of frustration. It's not a perfect fix, nothing is, but it's something we could think of. An opt-in program on the forums maybe, AOs/CAs approving them, server specific or not.

  4. We can analyze the reasons for staff number being low/activity being low but the most effective solution will always be to get more quality admins. The idea presented in the OP is something that I don't think is a good idea currently. If we aren't going to trust someone with SA, I don't want to trust them with almost any of the admin commands.

Something important to understand is that this place is a community run pretty much on peoples ambitions and passion. At the end of the day the community is held up by people who aren't paid dick and just really want to help for one reason or another. My point is if there isn't enough admins then you guys have the power to change that by applying yourselves, or encouraging others to apply. You can do way more than that for the community but those 2 basic things have a pretty big impact. If anyone has suggestions that we haven't tried or are worth revisiting I'm sure we will look into it.

Lastly, I'm a million more times likely to come to a server if it's posted in shoutbox or if someone physically Steam PM'd me. The call admin plugin has a lot of bullshit reports that I can't be bothered to delve into sometimes. If there is a serious thing that you need I encourage any of you guys to add me and private message me.

    Makes a lot of sense.

I'd also like to add something you said about the calladmin plugin.

I've had my doubts regarding the plugin. I've myself had to stop many players from using !calladmin for a simple misunderstanding. The average player was not present during the community meeting last sunday and does not know when/how to use it, which is normal. Would it be a good idea to "whitelist" some regulars/all regulars to give them a certain priority for that type of call? Again, I don't know how the plugin works since it wasn't a thing back then. Could subs/VIP/regs have some kind of importance there?

I'd also like to remind SAs and every staff member that they do not need to feel bad about those situations. Every single one of us has a life outside of SG. I hope everyone understands this and works toward a solution which keeps that fact in mind. I also remember being drunk at a party at 1am and being texted via steam that jailbreak needed an admin, and I couldn't go. It is normal to not have staff on at all time.

  5. This is actually something that we tried a few years ago. They used the tag [sG-A]. They had limited capabilities like you mentioned and were used as a way of vetting potential full admin.

I don't think we have a need for a similar position as it's easy enough to get admin if you dedicate a little bit of time. I would suggest befriending some admins so that you can message them to join the servers. It's not very realistic to expect an admin on every server at every hour, so this is one way you can get a quick response to rulebreakers.

I'd actually be curious about trying that again.

There are less admins now than there was when I got SA. I have a big portion of the staff added, yet it took more than 30 minutes for a CA to get on (meeting sunday) since nobody was on. The cheater actually had time to bore himself and leave. There are many occasions like that, where even if we try, we csn't do anything. I'd love to record, but my limited internet doesn't let me upload shit, and I guess I was the only reg one, as there are no running reports against him to this day.

What did you guys take away from the SG-A members? How did it turn out and why was it deemed unnecessary?

  6. Gotta post a video of you spinning it now.

I have the EXACT same one as Dominic. I spun it when I received it, more than a year ago, and I fucked my own wrist with it, accidental suicide inc.

  7. Strong beers, microbreweries here in Quebec are insane.

Red/dark brews are my favorite, especially "Trèfle Noir" stuff.

Also whiskey and rhum, it's also delicious.

As for a story, I have one.

I was doing a show at my school, music that is. There was 2 representations, and we just had done the first night. Me and the guys on the band were going to crash a party, but I did not feel like drinking that much, so I bought a 6pack of "Fin du Monde". (9% dark beer, you should'nt be drinking that at parties)

Well, I drank that shit like if it had ben regular lager and, accumulated with the fact I did not eat shit due to stress, I was drunk as fuck and I managed to play the second night totally hungover with my 2 buddies without throwing up on stage.

I was at a party and they had a Bud Lite and i tried about 2 ounces and threw up for the rest of the night.

Alcohol and soda are the shittest drinks IMO

Bud Light isn't a soda drink tho (?), it's piss...

Edit: it seems I did not read correctly, BL is still piss though.

  8. In real gambling, $2300. But, to be fair, that was my winnings - so I was really only down about $100.

Skins? $0. I don't get how you guys spend so much money on internet video game skins. Most of them look gay anyways

Only way to gamble before being 18 (21?) is with skins, which I'd transfer to paypal if I happened to make money.
