  1. At first I was "Wow, they finally did it!" then I was let down.. "what, a fake.. that sucks"
  2. Spore!

There is already a thread about this game.. http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4665&highlight=spore And yes it looks really cool. It's release keeps getting bumped back though..
  3. I just built a new machine.. Put Vista Ultimate on it.. and after SP1 it's not that bad.. It detects and uses the full 4GB RAM I have installed (pre sp1 only showed 3GB). Sure I disabled Aero and all the damn nag screens.. but so far nothing to complain about.
  4. Paul's 18!

    Happy Birthday!
  5. yay graduation?

Wow.. I feel old.. my graduation was soooo long ago that I hardly remember it. Congrats - Life will never be as easy again.

  9. Thanks everyone! For my Birthday I'm building my new gaming rig.. so now I can't blame my hardware anymore.. Should have it done later tonight.
  10. I've been needing a good laugh.. and DAMN you delivered!
  11. If you are talking about on a PC.. Do you currently have any Anti-Virus software? If not go download AVG (they have a free version) and run a full scan.
  12. I don't think you are stupid.. I just wanted to make sure you hadn't bought into the Mac advertising that claims no virus's. I have had to fix some pretty messed up Mac's from people who believe that crap.. And because of you said. It made me wonder if you believed it or not. Just trying to help.
  13. Eww... Spit that out!
  14. If you honestly think that there are no virus's, exploits/hacks on the Mac you are dillusional. There are plenty of exploits/hacks/virii for the mac. However.. this one does not look to be designed to work on a mac.
  15. Please don't bump old threads. :glare:
  16. building pc

Red is correct. If you're looking to save money (or use it to upgrade other components) the Centurion is a great case for the price.
  17. building pc

You might want to look at this case.. it's basically the same as the Antec 900 (A copycat, I just bought it last week) but has an ESATA port on the top with the USB ports and is cheaper. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146047
  18. A good place to start is http://tf2strategy.com/ Browse through the class and map strategy guides. Decent tips, definitely enough info to get you started. And I'm all for bringing back the SG - TF2 Server.. I miss it!
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. I got the ram as trade for helping a friend setup his Wireless (new still un-opened.) So I'm not spending any money on the ram. As for the Video card I'm still up in the air on that one.. I don't want to spend much more than that. But wanted to go as high as I could afford to. Yes I'm building it myself.. as I have with the last 3 computers I've had and countless others. As for budget.. under $800 But like I said.. I already have the RAM, DVD Burner, Hard Drive, possibly use that PSU at least for the time being. The PSU is brand new. Un-opened box (bought too many of them for a job I did a few months back) So if it will run what I have ok then I'm not sure I want to throw money at it.. I will upgrade if I decide to go SLI or RAID later on. Like I said .. already have the RAM and it was free & new as well. I've setup and run OC for others but never found need for my uses. I probably won't overclock.. I'm running a slower machine now and never really needed to OC. If I ever get bored and have extra cash to waste I might go liquid cooled and OC.. but for now.. not gonna happen.
  21. I am in the process of building a new system. I have everything except the Motherboard, CPU, Video Card. What I need is some advice regarding what Motherboard you would recommend and why.. as well as info on whether or not the brand new PowerSupply I have (got for free) will be sufficient. Specs so far.. Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W XFX PVT88GYDD4 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) LG Dual Layer DVD Burner Seagate 500GB SATA HD. The PSU I got for free is an Antec SmartPower 500Watt Modular PSU. Is this sufficient? or should I spend the $100 + on a better one? Secondly given the above specs and the fact that I would like to be able to easily go to DDR3 and Sli in the future and would prefer solid state capicitors (had problems with caps in the past.. I'll try to post some screenshots that will show why later) what motherboard would you recommend?
  22. Bad day.. Played leap-frog with a couple of Unicorns.
  23. It's all a conspiracy.. even the sinking of the Titanic.. "they" can't be trusted... http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=af07
  24. I'll let this image say all that needs to be said..
  25. Watched a pretty interesting mini-series about this on the Science channel (yes I'm a nerd) It was called "Mars Rising" Talks alot about the issues of communication, technology, cosmic radiation, personal interactions, muscle atrophy, etc. Here's a link if you're interested... http://science.discovery.com/convergence/mars-rising/about.html
