Valve's SDK is designed for more precise maps.


Farcry 2's maps are easy to make, but you can't make teleporters or invisible walls wherever you want, or code open doors, nor prefabs or electrified water and so on. (So far as I know)


Sure farcry's easy to make maps it does a pretty good job of it, it just can't get as precise as a valve map CAN be. If you really learned all there is about valve's SDK you can make a map that has amazing texture lights and sound, as well as secrets, just anyone who gets that good at mapping doesn't do it for a 'fun map'.



It's confusing as a bitch at first, but once maps come easier to you, you'll think Farcry's map maker is shitty in comparison.
