For a team that hasn't had a noteworthy performance in this level of competition in a sport that a large part of the population doesn't watch.. I'd say they held their own. 3-2 in the final against a team like Brasil where the national past-time is Futebol and they kids are practically born with a ball at their feet I don't think we did so bad at all. Plus I was torn as to who to root for. I wanted the US to win because I am a patriot and it would be nice for them to win something on the global scale. At the same time I've lived in Brasil, speak Portuguese, and wouldn't be surprised if I had an illegitimate child living somewhere in Brasil. So I consider it my second home country. But it's not. Hopefully the US will stop being eliminated so early in major soccer tournaments. It's pathetic to see the US escorted out of the first round of the World Cup without winning a SINGLE game. Link to comment
