To all you computer pros out there Im strongly considering building a new PC! I was wondering which mother board with a 1366 socket (i7 processor socket) would you choose if your mobo budget was $210 or less....

Ive been looking at several but I cant decide which one would meet my needs best so lets here what you guys have to say!!

If it fits that budget I'd get the Asus ATX (not matx) board. I think the P6t SE, as stripped down as it is compared to the rest, will fit your budget and still have a decent 8 phase power supply.

the Version II is better and maybe within your budget if you shop around

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131371

they both seem good

this one seem to have a few issues and its a micro so I guess smaller which is not really necessary..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188051

so I guess here are the other options

Gigabyte: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128375

MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130220

Shadows suggestion: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131386

And I guess tinks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131371

Now question is which one is best..Im reading reviews but its hard to decide, so I guess the question is which one is the reliable brand?? anymore inputs??

Thats the one I started before I started this thread and surprisingly I had chosen the P6t!!

Double post but Im addressing a second issue so to speak...Tink you posted that in a different thread..

I agree the built will be $400 less and just as fast but the reason im really leaning towards a i7 /x58 moboard is for future upgrades, I mean the 775 socket is pretty much dead now that the i7 came so wouldnt it make more sense to buy newer stuff with the possibility of being able to upgrade later rather then the dead end 775?

wrong, well sort of, the first couple of hundred off the production line were fucked to be honest, but they recalled them all and fixed the errors. i7 at the moment (except the 920) is just not worth the money, the Q9*** are still fucking quick and ludicracy overclockable+ uses cheaper DDR2 ram which is still fast, even though some motherboards use the 775 socket and DDR3, them motherboards do not use the full speed of the DDR3, if you want i high end build but dont want to spent a shit load on it, go for a high spec 775 socket CPU, good motherboard and 1600Mhz ram+ what ever gfx card you decide to go for insted of the i7. you will be garenteed to save at least $400 on the build and it will be just as fast.

you could wait a couple of weeks/ a month then a new cpu/chipset is being released by intel, Core i5, you could wait and see how well it is reviewed, for one it will be cheaper and i think i read somewhere it may even support some of the new socket i7 as well in the future

Im going to go cry in a corner!!!!!

So the "new" technology that came out this year in the x58 boards with 1366 pins (socket B) but now newer technology is the Socket H with 715 pins and that will be cheaper.... coming out next month...

Now apparently the clock speed of the Core i5 processor will be controlled by software...it will be slower I think...

But the real question which one is the best choice for future upgrades???

Why cant intel stick with a socket??

I guess 1366 is more appropriate for gaming but still it gets confusing for newbies like me!!!
