I had a bad experience with steam when they first came out, kind of has kept me off it all these years. I may have to give it another try sometime.

Desu, steam may be mildly okay now, but when it first launched it was a total joke. Steam literally ruined every Valve game I had, since I couldn't play them anymore without this big clunky client running in the background and screwing with me. After basically seven years of working out the bugs, they are finally getting some stuff right.

^ word, it didnt let me log into it to play with my BRAND NEW COPY of CS I got when I replaced my comp in college. I was tired of it after that

It's a love/hate thing for me.

 

I hate that they don't fucking support 32 slot tf2 servers, seriously what the fuck?!

But i've joined several 32 slot TF2 servers. I just love having my games at one account that align with the Steam Community and hopefully more developers use Steamworks.

In most cases, Steam does not let me run any games, even single player games, if I lose internet connection. I lose internet connection frequently because of my location in my house, the basement. So, When the internet loses connection I can't even sit down for a nice game of Portal, I have to wait until the internet comes back for that. Point: I don't like Steam, But I have to use it
