Internet so slow all of a sudden

Well, my internet has recently been having connection spikes every now and then. Right now it is running fine but sometime later today I usually experience it and it takes around 5~10 minutes to load one page. I use a wired internet connection and I have had this modem for about a year and I reset it about a month ago. Does someone know why?

I was having the same problem, if you moved your modem/router that may affect it. My modem was in a small space, and it turned out it was overheating O_O

 

I have it in the open and I have not disconnected since I moved it.

Avast! is very good too if you want spyware or virus protection while surfing (download trial and get key)

You can report it to your internet provider. I had this problem recently. And I still have some problems. Call your internet provider to help you. Good Luck. You gonna need it.

Calling an ISP straight away is time consuming and down right annoying.

 

Firstly, confirm with other members of family who use the computer as to what they are doing during these hours of lag spikes ( E.g. Brother is downloading a gig of porn) etc.

 

Then move on to suggestions above.

check your memory bandwidth and check how much is been used, might be too much memory on ur comp. try deletin some usless stuff
