Basically I've noticed that CPU isn't working as 'well' as before. I've got a C2D E4300 1.8GHz. I've got a spare computer which has a E6300 in there, is it worth swapping them over? (I'd have to switch mobo too as I know it's incompatible). If the power difference isn't really worth the time taken, I need a new CPU (775). Any recommendations on what will be powerful enough? I like the look of the E8400 (I don't want to be upgrading motherboards which will in turn be upgrading RAM etc, it's just hassle) Thanks D Link to comment

So if you have a graphics card that struggles to wok at that resolution, your going to see decrease in performance. What Graphics card you runng toe monitor on and what resolution is the 32"? It's currently running at 1360 x768 which is the recommended setting. I can put it up to 1920 x 1080 if I wanted to. Turns out my 9800GTX+ fan broke (realized when it took aero off of windows7) so I stole the XFX 240GTS 1GB I bought my lil' bro for xmas lol (I put an old crappy card in his pc). Link to comment

LOL, regifting to yourself Anyways, if the problem is still not fixed, maybe try monitoring performance with ctrl+alt+del and see when your cpu stress load fluxuates the most. Idk just a suggestion... Link to comment

You don't even need to change the resolution you have it at. Your CPU will choke. Link to comment

Your CPU will choke. going on what wrath said, just clarify. video playback is not graphics card dependant, it is entirely cpu (besides the part where you need a connection to the monitor). im actually in favour of overclocking the cpu a wee bit to see if that makes it a better for you rather than you spending money that you dont have or dont need to. so if your not scared of trying new things let us know and we can help you through it.
