My PC is SHIT after a virus...

Alright, 2 days ago I somehow got the Anti-Spyware soft (which is a shitty virus), and after a long proceedure in trying to delete it, I used Alt+F10 and wiped everything. (It basically starts it back to what it was when you first unboxed it)

Everything is incredibly slow now. I don't even have half of the shit I did before. Server downloads take 10x the time to download files, and the bar doesn't even show the progress anymore, it'll just freeze and eventually switch to 'Connecting to server'.

Loading internet pages isn't any better either, they're x2 as slow as they used to be.

Is there any reason for this, or could I still possibly have the virus/viruses?

How can I fix this?

Did you reload everything from a partition on your HDD with factory defaults or did you actually do a system restore and completely reformat?

If you have multiple hard drives you may have to format those also. Get a good AV. If your cheap go with avast, I personally like it.

Do a complete reformat. No way to be sure a virus is gone without one.

my dad services networks and systems for a living and he said that's the only way to do it. ive personally spent hours trying to clean shit up. its basically impossible, and most of the time the operating system itself has been corrupted, so in that case it literally is impossible. what i would do if i were you (and what ive done personally) is get 2 hard-drives going and transfer your data that you need from the one that your system is on right now onto the other one (photos, files, game saves, ect) and then wipe the corrupted drive, reinstall the os and transfer your data back over. just be careful not to generalize copying your whole "my documents" so you don't copy the virus back over. in the end its actually nicer, you have the files you need, and your computer runs faster than it did before you had the virus. the only downside is installing drivers and hardware

Copying things to a new hard drive can also be a risk because those files may be affected. My friend got a virus and it attacked all his hard drives and partitions. He had to wipe everything because it was all infected. This virus even deleted his AV and all the windows things to block it. The only program working was ventrillo.

To be honest, I would just backup any files you need, format your harddrive then re-install your OS.

Than scan those files. I prefer to be paranoid when it comes to things like this.

Well, im not sure what you have on your computer, but if I was in your situation i would backup my SDK maps and models im working on, no software shizzle or games.

Then ill'd format n reinstall the OS

Partition.

I have absolutely no idea how to do any of this, which is why I partitioned it.

My PC was running perfectly normal as I had the virus, I could easily play CS:S and shit, it was a rogue antivirus. I'll try to scan it and see if I have any viruses, other than than I don't really want to try to re-download all the drivers and shit. (If they came with the PC, they're loooong gone.)

Though, I don't mind completely wiping my PC, It's nice to have it free of random shit and 1,000 torrents scattered around your PC. All I have now is STEAM, it's games, Winrar and firefox. (That's been custom DL'd.)

Though, I do request a good scanner.

Everything I had/have didn't detect the virus.
