OR should i get something totally different and better that i dont know about?

omg Bill I'm being real here. DELLS ARE SHIT. THEY ARE FUCKING SHIT. Take it from someone who is basically his family's geek squad.

On a second note... my brother has an alienware. His hard drive went out on him twice. They were seagates. Also consider the rig is fucking huge.

good luck on whatever you choose.

I would not get an Alien Ware you are pretty much just paying for the brand and not the computer. I know you said you don't want to make one but I would highly suggest it because it could be cheaper then buying one from a store, and you can get it to fit what you want to do, plus you can just make a topic in tech section and they could help you to see if it would all work together.

Also if your not sure about something PM someone who knows about this stuff, Toxin saved me from wasting money on a bad PSU/Graphics card not to long ago.

Alienware = the equivalent of buying an Apple computer, but for games. You're buying it mostly for the brand, not the actual components (hence why an Apple computer is 2x the price of a computer you could build with the same exact specs; same applies to Alienware boxes).

I just suggest getting someone to build the box for you if you don't know how (or don't have anyone to teach you); or buy it from a place that builds it for you (it will be a bit more expensive than building it yourself, but a hell lot less than pre-builds).

I suggest ComputerLX if you're going to go with number 2. I bought a few from them for some people I was too lazy to build for, and it was built quickly but built good, was tested for a week at their place to make sure it was stable too, and they shipped it out quickly, and they all came in perfect conditions with a long warranty (3 years by default, IIRC). You can even tell them exactly how you want, what parts, etc, and they'll do it. Great service really.

Alienware is shitty, not to mention it's incredibly overpriced because it's alienware. Just get windows 7.
