A good headset for me?

Hi all,

I currently own a Speedlink Medusa NX 5.1 USB headset and it's alright, but it's not too comfortable. It's too heavy (too much pressure on my head), it gets too hot too quick and these two things cause it to irritate.

So I'm basically looking for a headset which is really comfortable and probably not too heavy, it should have USB I guess since I don't even know what kind of sound card I have in my PC and it doesn't neccesarily have to be 5.1/7.1, but it would be nice. And it shouldn't be too expensive either. I've tried multiple headsets before this one, like a Logitech ClearChat Pro (a totally other level of headset, it was alright as one of my first headsets, but that's it) or something, a Creative HS-1200 (really bad irritation, mic alright), and a Creative Fatal1ty Professional Series Gaming Headset MkII (not too good, poor mic and irritates).

I should also note that the build quality of this Medusa NX is not too good, even though it's German

And if all USB headsets are crap, I'd also like to get an idea of what soundcard I should get in that case, I do have soundcard btw, but I don't know whether it's good or bad, it does have all sorts of coloured connectors. (Multichannel)

Thanks in advance.

I personally have Razer Megalodons.

In my opinion they are pretty lightweight and comfortable. the build quality is nice (and it should be for $150) It has a anti tangle rope cord and a built in sound card into the controller unit. You can switch from 2.0 sound to 7.1. The mic is pretty crisp and clear. The only thing I feel that is sub par with this headset is it doesn't have that deep bass that I was looking for, but overall its the best headset I've owned.

I use Turtle Beach's PX21 headset, works on PC, 360, and PS3 so you can switch it up and it works perfectly for me. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3-gaming-headsets/ear-force-px21.aspx

Or you can get the X11 which is almost essentially the same thing minus a few settings and not being able to use it on the PS3, still goes on PC, 360 though. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/xbox-gaming-headsets/ear-force-x11.aspx

Or if you want to go really high quality you can get Astros, http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/12/A40-MLG-Edition/ They cost $250 but are well worth the money from what people have told me.

If you have a gaming console, like an Xbox, or PS3, buy a headset for that, that you can also use with your PC. I used to have a TB PX21, which was pretty good, but to me it felt kind of dangly, and the cord tangled a lot. Now I use a TB X31 Wireless headset, and it is way better, very comfortable, lightweight, great microphone, and the battery life lasts me about 1 week per pair of AAA's (and I use them a lot).
