  1. Just a reminder that the event starts in around 5 hours. The twitch stream can be found at http://www.twitch.tv/sg_goku Remember that there will be around a 30 second delay. The audio from teamspeak, the game, and my mic will be able to be heard on the stream. So if you wish to watch it that way you can. Otherwise, listening live through teamspeak will allow you to hear what is happening in real time, but you won't be able to see the bomb itself.
  2. Decoys: If people are spamming it, that's punishable. Other maps have decoys as well. People talking over each other: We shouldn't remove a map because people don't know it...playing it more is how you counter that. And people talking over each other can be stopped by an admin. Less guns: I think there's a fair amount of guns. Also see my next point. No vents: A map doesn't need vents that lead to armory (which was the reason you mentioned in TS). There are few teleporters on the map. There's really nothing wrong with the map. It is quite a popular map and I never hear anyone complain when we are there.
  3. No. See below for why Cappn pls, that is not at all what he asked. And again no. The reason we won't be doing this is because part of JB is learning the ropes, which involves learning the maps. The best way to do so is to explore and test out different things. A little exploring is all it takes to discover most map secrets. If we spoon feed the secrets to everyone, then, as stuning pointed out, you would have CTs camping certain spots more than they already do, and more Ts would try to use certain secrets. Basically, it takes away a bit from the gameplay. It is a lot more fun and rewarding figuring out certain aspects and making all the secrets easily accessed and known by everyone ruins them.
  4. ATM was planning on asking a random trivia questions periodically. Might narrow it down to just those that play the game. Depends how many people show up.
  5. Good chance I won't be either, and I'm the one hosting and teaching people how to play Also Will there be a giveaway? YES! I have bought 3 copies of the game that I will be giving away during the event. I'll update this post later tonight when I get home on how I will be doing it.
  6. You only have to buy it if you are defusing. You can look at and/or download the manual and play as a "bomb expert" for free.
  7. I ain't sharing shit from my account with none of y'all :3 Also I'm pretty sure that's not how family sharing works...
  8. I bought it because I already had 8 bucks in my wallet. So far very much worth it, but the only one that has to own it is the one defusing. You can play for free by being one of the ones helping defuse it on http://www.bombmanual.com
  9. Depends how many ppl come play. ATM afaik it's just me.
  10. So @SpikedRocker and myself played through about half of the bombs in the "story" mode so to speak. Gotta say guys, this game is a lot of fun. Think you guys will enjoy it. Also, fuck morse code....fucking bullshit....
  11. If this doesn't go here, could a CA+ please move it to the proper section What will be be doing? We will be playing the game "Keep Talking and Nobody Dies". Some of you may have seen the thread Spiked posted about the new game "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" If you haven't see the game already, you can view it and some more discussion including a video here Basically one person is looking at a bomb, while the others, known as the "bomb experts" are looking at the bomb manual. The person defusing has to tell the "experts" what the modules on the bomb look like so they can help him defuse it. Only one person has to actually own the game, the others can just view the website to view the manual. When we will be playing? Unless there is high demand to change the time, the current planned time is this Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at 8 PM EDT. For the ones that can't figure out when that is, view the spoiler below to see a list of various locations. Where we will be playing? Since the majority of the game is played by communicating, I will setup a private teamspeak channel. It will be set so that talk power is required, and the only ones that are currently playing (the one defusing, and 2-3 "bomb experts") can talk. Will it be streamed? Yes...kinda. When I am defusing, I will be streaming my game. Doing a few tests, it seems the delay is around 30 seconds. Which given the nature of the game may or may not be great for everyone, but better than nothing? Who will be playing? Well, anyone that wants to can join in. I already own the game, and anyone wanting to be the one defusing must purchase to play. But anyone can be a "bomb expert" by visiting the site provided above. I'm thinking of trying to limit the amount of people in each session to about 3-4, but people wanting to listen in and try to play along and view the manual as people try to defuse it. Will there be a giveaway? YES! I have bought 3 copies of the game that I will be giving away during the event. How will the giveaway work? In order to be eligible for the giveaway, you must first be at the event (duh!). There will be three ways to win a copy. The first way is to play a game and help to defuse the bomb. Anyone that actually plays a game, will entered into a pool and one winner chosen at random. The second way to win is by correctly answering a series of questions. At some point in the event (exact time TBD) I will ask a series of questions. I will give everyone a few minutes heads up prior to the questions being asked. The topics of the questions will vary and can be about anything. To answer the questions, you will message me on teamspeak with your answers. I will set a timer for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, any answers sent in will not be accepted. I highly encourage and ask that you send in your answer in one long message. After the 3 minutes is up, whomever answered all questions correctly the fastest wins. If no one answered all questions correctly, then whomever answered the most correct in the shortest amount of time wins. The third and final way to win, is by random draw. At 9 PM EDT (or 1 hour after the event start) I will mark down everyone that is in the teamspeak channel and randomly choose one person to win. Keep in mind that you can only win once. I'm doing the giveaway more complicated than most giveaways here, simply to make it more interactive and hopefully make the event more fun for people.
  12. "Alright so-" DING DING DING DING "..." "..." "Alright you can't fucking wine glass me bro! I run this shit!" -@Caution with special appearances from @WickedZealot 's wine glass
  13. The meeting is 12 pm est aka noon?...
  14. I in my original post I said "that evening" if you think I'm about to get up at 6 am, start drinking and try to defuse a bomb with you nerds, you got life messed up.
  15. This would be happening around 6-7 eastern time aka east coast so just do the math for where you live. And did you really just ask me if I'm rooting for Dallas or New England....
  16. I'm off Saturday. Got the meeting at 12 est, another online hangout with the lead singer of this band I like at 4 est. that'll prob be over in about an hour or so. I'll be down to host an event later that evening. Got a bottle of some moonshine I'll think about tapping into. Lord knows I don't want to be sober Sunday when the Cowboys play the Patriots. I'll also look into trying to stream the game for those not helping defuse. I'll setup a teamspeak channel as well. Should be a fun night overall.
  17. Just bought it. Currently downloading. Edit: All right, the game is downloaded. Opened it up to look at it. To clarify, you don't have to own the game to play it, only the person that will be defusing the bomb has to own it. The rest can just go here: http://www.bombmanual.com/ The controls are pretty straight forward. Just as in the video, you are presented with a the bomb in front of you. You left click to select and do actions, right click to deselect or move the bomb around. The hard part really seems to be in the hands of the ones reading the manual. Just glancing over it,it seems like it might get a tad bit confusing at times but some playing should make things easier. As for those worried about people memorizing it, remember that the bomb itself changes when you play. Not to mention, before starting it requires you to put in verification code to make sure you are using the right version of the bomb manual, which makes me assume there will be later versions of the manual and updated bombs. Honestly its a good find @SpikedRocker Since it isn't required to purchase the game for everyone to play, seems like a really fun community game.
  18. Since you cut off the rest of my quote I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or serious XD :3 All good now.
  19. I seriously can't tell if this is sarcasm or what....
  20. Just because you reach the post threshold, doesn't mean you'll get it. You still have to stick out to the higher ups an prove yourself as valuable part of the community. So you could spam, but it won't get you HG Personally I'm glad we have this. One thing I mentioned last meeting was there isn't much incentive for a member to join the community and stick around. When I had first joined you actually had to apply for member, and getting reg was a big deal. HG should help get people to join and try to become a valuable asset to the community.
  21. I'd be down for playing. Seems like there might be a slight learning curve, but still something fun and different.
  22. Pssst...no one nominate him trololol
  23. Why not wine? I hear @WickedZealot has an amazing wine glass ;) The meeting we had in August was "unmoderated" meaning anyone could talk at anytime, but it was just fine. No one really spoke unless necessary and there wasn't any trolling.
  24. Supporter went away earlier this year and was replaced with subscriber. Subscriber is $5 a month and you get all the old perks of supporter. You can either do monthly payments, or you can pay in advance (donate $20 and get subscriber for 4 months). As for the prefix bit, someone else can touch down on that. I would assume it has something to do with !settag (least that's the command on PB)..I don't play ZE so idk. Also I could have swore there was a thread that described subscriber but I can't find the damn thing....
