    Happy 4th everyone!
  8. WORLD CUP 2014

Excited for the matches tomorrow! I'm hoping for Colombia and Germany to win.
  9. WORLD CUP 2014

And you don't think I recognize players such as that? Of course, every name that you listed up has earned their spot as the greatest footballers of all time. But there's still way more talent than that, that no one really appreciates. It's the feeling when you watch that one team in the MLS or that one player in an African team that really shines and that's how you discover players. I wouldn't say either is really good, but it's worth watching due to the individual talent from some players. As for Asian football, I do agree with you, it's not even entertaining to watch at all. I'd rather watch kids in wheelchairs play.
  10. WORLD CUP 2014

Just because you can't watch people do some skills down the wing and break past defenders doesn't mean that it's shitty football. If you played soccer a bit or even knew anything about it, you'd know it's more than watching Messi dribble through defenses. The way you've been describing the World Cup, you seem like the type of person who spends his time watching Messi & Ronaldo goals & skills videos on YouTube and not real matches of football.
  11. WORLD CUP 2014

I agree completely with how you feel on Germany and Belgium (to an extent), but the comment about African football being shit and always being shit is just an act of pure ignorance. If you really love football as much as you do, you would watch it as much as you can. I actually spend my time looking for different matches to watch, whether it's a Champions League match or an MLS match, football is football. If you really love the sport, you'd love watching it, regardless of what team is on. You can't even imagine how angry my parents used to get at me when I used to watch teams like River Plate from Argentina. They would say shit like "why the hell do you watch this shit? you don't even like this team!" I watch football because it is the beautiful game, and the talent that comes out of Africa is actually pretty immense. I guarantee within the next 20 years, an African team will lift up the World Cup trophy. I don't really feel like getting into more detail because I'm not up for more arguments, but you clearly are only watching European football. Take some time to go watch an MLS match or the Copa America in Chile next year.
  12. WORLD CUP 2014

This is not even close. You're forgetting about teams such as Morocco and Algeria? I'd say the best football in Africa definately comes out of North Africa by far. Yes, Ivory Coast and Ghana are two talented teams, but you're forgetting about a few of the North African teams, which are full of talent. You're going to say Adel Taarabt isn't a World Class player? Look at all the goals he scored with QPR and how he fought hard against relegation. Also, if you say African keepers are all shit, then you're clearly ignorant. Did you not see the game M'Bolhi played against the Germans? He played like a World Class goalkeeper. Also, if you're going to say South Africa was ok, then you're wrong yet again. I hope you realize the only way they played last World Cup was because they were the host nation. Their team is garbage, the only decent player they have is Tshabalala. African football isn't the greatest, I agree, but there is a lot of talent coming out of there. I love how everyone overestimates Argentina. Yes of course, they have a great history in the World Cup, having won two of them. But their back 4 consists of some good players, but overall, they're kinda shitty. Mascherano is complete garbage, Garay and Zabaleta are the only two good defenders on that team. They rely way too much on Messi, and they've been scoring very late in each of their matches. I don't see them winning this tournament at all.
  13. WORLD CUP 2014

Wait, I just found out why! Because they realized they wouldn't win shit with Algeria. I respect Zizou, he's one of the all time greats, but if he really loved his country, he would play for them. Considering the skill he had, he could have put Algeria on his back and at least brought them to the World Cup. As for Benzema, I'm going to restate what I previously said. He wouldn't play for Algeria because he knew they wouldn't go anywhere. I have more respect for players who would rather stay true to their country than to go get citizenship in other countries and play for them. Just noticed you added this in, so I'll add my two cents once again. Although the United States haven't won a World Cup, we still play with heart. And last time I recall, you've failed to show that you have French blood directly in you. I understand there was a point in time where there was French influence in North Africa, but from what you've told me, you were an Algerian living in Canada. I never heard you say anything about being French once before.
  14. WORLD CUP 2014

I'm not necessarily saying they're good, I'm saying you guys fall to them almost every damn time. Also, I wonder why these two greats put on a French jersey instead of an Algerian jersey, hmm......
  15. WORLD CUP 2014

Not sure when the last time the US won something, but considering you've been taking the sport a lot more seriously than we have, you should feel ashamed. You couldn't even hold your own against Russia without the help of a few laser pointers. Also, let's see Algeria's record vs Morocco in the past 30 years or so, shall we? It's ok, I'll try to understand your pain seeing Chamakh net the ball into your goal multiple times. Remember, he's sat bench almost all of his games for Arsenal and manages to still score beautiful goals against you guys. Once again, didn't see you added more. You may be right, Germany has lost twice against Algeria and won once out of the total of 3 games they've played. But I'm sure you remember this very vividly:
  16. WORLD CUP 2014

Pretty much. The United States should be proud, they had a hell of a tournament. They played well against teams that are known for being good like Portugal, Ghana, and Germany. The US managed to make it out of the Group of Death which is pretty damn good. Tim Howard and Michael Bradley have to be my two favorite players because they both take on leadership roles in the team, even more than the guy wearing the Captain's armband (and they're both from New Jersey!!!). Also, to make it farther than teams who have a known to be a lot better than the United States, such as Italy and Spain, is an accomplishment for them. Granted, that both Italy and Portugal did not play so well this World Cup, they've been known to be a threat throughout history and to make it farther than teams such as those is something that the United States should hold onto. Belgium is a very talented team, and there is no excuse to why the US lost. They were outplayed, but I feel only losing by 1 goal to teams like Germany and Belgium is something that the United States can work on and I feel within 20 years the United States will be lifting the World Cup trophy. LOL please, talk to me when Algeria can beat Morocco, yet alone Germany on their shitty days
  17. WORLD CUP 2014

He didn't score, but he played a fantastic game. Bradley is a midfield general and he's the kind of guy who should still be playing in the Serie A or Bundesliga.
  18. WORLD CUP 2014

Let's go USA! Hoping for a goal from Michael Bradley! EDIT: New York Red Bulls fans in the Supporters section do this chant way better!
