Because growing up surrounded by Asians can make Asians boring as potential partners. In my particular case, growing up in Asia and having an Asian family on my Mother's side has made Asians "plain" to me. I always liked non-Asians growing up. As such I've never dated an Asian. I'm with a Jew now, something new to me and fun. I wouldn't mind dating another Half-Asian like myself, but a full Asian, not so much. Plus mixed couples are a lot more noticeable than non-mixed couples, so it might just seem like there are more of them than there are of non-mixed Asian couples.
