You wont need anything different to play the CS:S after the beta ends, and if you lag simply turn the settings to low like I do unless you are the type of gamer that cant stand playing with blurry junk.

Mostly likely because you were bhopping with lowered fps, not gonna say how to do it though cause it would get spread and alot of people would be doing it. Also I have no clue what happened or on what server so its only an assumption.
