Actually if I remember correctly when I was with 3rd ID we spent 48 days in NTC before we deployed, but things may have changed since 2004. Canada has a well trained modern army and they don't send their boys downrange without going to an NTC base for pre-deployment training. Funny how you failed to mention this.

I spent 13 months in Iraq and have never heard of any Canadian forces being there, Afghanistan, yes. What FOB will you be operating from? What unit will you be attached with? When is your KRF date? Plus I also know Canadian forces go to an NTC center before they deploy, which takes nearly a month to complete. Where did you go?
