KScorp Posted April 26, 2010 Content Count: 470 Joined: 04/04/10 Status: Offline Share Posted April 26, 2010 So I recently got a nice new Acer 24" monitor. My old, 17" Acer still works fine, so I decided to keep it plugged in. It certainly helps multitask. I got UltraMon for the ease of management and extended taskbar, and that's about it. Anyone know of any great programs to use with this setup, or maybe any special uses you found for two monitors? Anything you run while playing some (full screen) games? Link to comment

tinkerbell Posted April 26, 2010 Content Count: 1662 Joined: 05/16/07 Status: Offline Share Posted April 26, 2010 the way i use dual monitors in game is that i have vent/msn/web browser/film open at the same time. outside of game i have one monitor as my main view that i look at the majority of the time, and the secondary for when im researching stuff. moving files from folder to folder etc... the only way you could use multi monitors for gaming is that the are identicle, and have 3 of them, anf have them set up for maximum FOV settup Link to comment
Jager Posted April 26, 2010 Content Count: 1300 Joined: 06/24/07 Status: Offline Share Posted April 26, 2010 as tink said I have a 20.1 turned vertically to match the height of my 28" monitor to have my vent IM websites music etc running during gaming, however need a fairly powerful card to be able to do full screen gaming and still run monitor 2 without lag or major FPS drops. I have considered grabbing eyefinity and springing for multiple 28" monitors, but not much point atm even with FOV settings tweaked, most games cant handle and just stretch the game to compensate making it look off. I just use my second monitor for extra productivity personally. however need a fairly powerful card to be able to do full screen gaming and still run monitor 2 without lag or major FPS drops. Even my 6600gt had no problems gaming on one screen with just windows and 2d stuff on the other. Link to comment

(I'm using it for some web browsing atm.) Probably the best place to put winamp and things like that. =P Link to comment

I have it set to focus on Performance rather than quality but still only average around 50 fps. Link to comment
