For machine code and assembly language there is a fixed set of instructions available to the processor. The registry will also not be the same between processors ect.

Well what CPU is this for? You need to know the ISA before you can do anything.

So initial complaints seem to be that its too dark and that there isnt enough ammo. I also noticed I managed to put the wrong ammo near the rifles so ill address that asap (how did I miss that one?) I am going to change the lighting to make it brighter and add lights to most of the rooms I had left dark (sounded cool in theory, but just takes up map space with confusingly dark rooms) Anyone else who played this map please chime in. I know I heard a few praises and complaints in the server both would be appreciated. Any ideas would be nice.

The only reason to ever get USB is if you either have no spare outputs on your soundcard or your soundcard is trash. The USB headsets essentialy add another soundcard to your PC and that can be annoying. For instance, you cant have a program outputing to your speakers and the headphones without switching audiodevices in the software. On top of that you add a level of complication to them that makes them noticeably less reliable. Lastly, when you use a USB headset you loose the ability to plug it into anything other than a compatible computer so there goes flexibility. Your soundcard is almost certaintly better than the built in one and you cant use an external amplifier when you use USB so I would say stay away unless you have no other choice.

Unless you have a bad soundcard (and I mean BAD) stay away from USB headphones. They tend to fail faster, deliver inferior sound (I have used 3 and they all sound bad) and using 2 sound cards (headphones and speakers) complicates things far too much. Plus if you have a high end sound card you are completely wasting it.

If you are on wireless that's not at all surprising.

As a side note, there is not a single pair of headphones in existence that can best the Grado Labs SR80i at music reproduction for under $100. They are simply unparalleled in that price range. The Sennheisers are probably better for gaming though. Grado Labs | SR80i

The windows boot loader might not work with linux and its just plain not as good. Use Grub

changing the boot order would work fine. Although there are boot loaders that support choosing between OSs I know if you install linux after windows you can use the linux boot loader to choose windows or linux. But when I did that, it was on a single drive so I am not sure.

I see a number of you have downloaded the map, I would appreciate your thoughts. Obviously I am aware of the shortage of props, but suggestions would still be helpfull. If you have found any major flaws that we missed in early testing please let me know so I can fix it quickly. As far as I know, none such flaws exist.

Not really, Sennheisers are known for extremely clear audio reproduction. Some headphones are designed to make music sound better but those Senneheisers have been engineered for complete neutrality. They will reproduce every detail and have amazingly full soundstages. I havent used that particular model, but I can vouch for the HD565 conveying the location of every instrument in an orchestra clear as a bell and you can bet it does a good job tracking footsteps. The only place where you really loose out is that there is no built in volume control and there is no microphone. Audiophiles place great emphasis on being able to pick apart the instuments and the finest details of a musical piece and thats exactly what those headphones are engineered to do. It should also be noted that sennheiser also sells high end gaming headsets.

When you use a USB headset you are bypasing your PC's soundcard and using a completely different device. If you speakers are connected to your soundcard and you have a headset with its own soundcard you are having to switch between to different audio devices.

Sky is right about wireless not being good. On top of that, dont buy headphones made by "gaming" companies. You are buying a pair of headphones and a microphone... buy them from a company that makes headphones and microphones. (AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamics, ect.) Also I would have to say that unless you really want the headset, standalone headphones and mic are just far better. Both will tend to be higher quality when separate and cost you way less. But again, which ever way you go. PLEASE buy from a company that actually makes headphones. Its just silly to compare Logitech or Razer to something like Sennheiser or AKG. Basically what you need is a well build pair of high precision headphones with a large sound-stage.

This was extremely late notice. Unless you were on between 8:30 and 11:00 would would have missed it. As it turns out you didnt miss much. The other clan fielded 15 highly tuned tier 8 tanks and we had something like 7 tanks from tier 5-6. Would love to have you along next time.

As a few of you are aware, SG's WoT clan was recently involved in a battle of sorts (more of a one way exercise in target practice for the other team). So, given the increased increase in this game I think we should start organizing events in advance and as a group so we can avoid situations like the other night and get the most out of this. We had decent attendance for such short notice and a number of people have expressed interest in doing this again. If you want to participate in one of the upcoming WoT events, suggest it here and make it known so we have adequate notice and can organize a fun event.
