If you dont need all that much and dont mind the lack of dx11 support, instead of a 9800GT you could look into a 9800 GTX/GTS 250. (they are the same thing) Yes it is slower than thr 460 but it can be had for around $100 and get about 70% the performance.

ok for the other applications you may need to find a program, such as sockscap, to "socksify" your applications. the only limitations i have run into are related to protocols (like GRE) that are not udp or tcp and, as far as i know, cannot run through a SOCKs proxy.

4x GTX 480 you should get some "acceptable" performance out of that.

I have a 9800GTX and a 9800GTX+ running in sli. I currently have the normal GTX as the primary card with no problems but i was wondering if i would benefit from running the GTX+ as the primary card. or would it not make a difference?

oh make sure you get putty with dynamic tunneling as a feature. the older versions dont have it.

what an insane coincidence! I just solved this in the last day at my school. I had been running a pptp vpn to bypass the firewall but they blocked all ports but 443 and 80 after some security breaches. They also blocked gre which is required for pptp so that wont work anymore. soooo..... what i did it set up an OpenSSH server on the pc at home i use as server. (you can find this for windows with a few searches on google.) once i had the openssh for windows installed I forwarded port 443 (HTTPS) through my router. I then connect to my ssh server using a program called putty (once again google it its free) once connected you can use putty as a SOCKs proxy and tunnel through. It works! faster than the vpn too. plus its encrypted so they cant see whats going through. it just looks like normal HTTPS traffic. let me know if you need the specifics of the configuration.

nevermind. i just deleted the whole server and re installed the latest update. turns out that because my database was started back in the first beta versions it had stuff in it thats not compatible with this one.

ok i have been running my own teamspeak server for 3 years now. the servers are structured with different levels of permission granted to people. it is supposed to work in such a way that a server admin can do whatever the hell he want and a guest cant. a channel admin can kick or ban a guest or "normal" but can be banned by and cannot kick an admin. unfortunately when i updated the server recently... well I, the server admin, can be kicked/banned/moved/anything by a guest with no granted permissions. i have tried editing permissions but it dos not work. apparently anyone can do anything now. it makes the server total dysfunctional. help!

actually the z3 m coupes and roadsters have plummeted in value because the new z4 has forced the old z4 down in price and that has forced the z3 down. $20,000 will buy you a nice one with low mileage. if you dont mind high mileage you can get em for under $17,000. and i would choose the coupe over the m3 any day because most people wouldn't and that makes it quite uncommon.(though the new m3 is a different story)

yeah im only getting 186HP but its not exacly slow. 255 will move you just fine. i am so wanting to trade up or buy a z3 m coupe and get the 340HP in a 2700 lbs car. m3 engine in a z3 FTW!

255 is not too bad. you can still blow past those unfortunate people in econo boxes. like a prius or something.

i would go with the 9800 GTX+. I love mine so much i got 2. if its still not powerfull enough to float your boat throw a 3rd in. The card has given me no problems and can run whatever the helli want at high settings. i belive they have now rebranded it and called it the gtx 250 so i would also look at one of those.

I connect to my home network via vpn from school. the connection works fine but i am having issues with duplicate ip addresses. I try to access a network drive on a computor on my home network but... there is a computor on the school network with the same ip address. when it does a dns lookup for the name of my home pc it comes up with the correct address but then proceeds to connect me to the pc on the school network with that same ip. is there anyway to specify which network i am trying to reach? i have never dealt with a single pc being on multiple networks before and dont want to have to change my home network settings.

i still dont understand ordering a custom gaming pc whe nyou can biuld one yourself for far less money and have some fun.

so lazy asses its fun and cheaper to build one. and you can have a 360 thats not stuck in a 100lbs of pc.

this thing is total crap. what the hell kinda dumb ass buys a pc with a 360 console in it. and for that kinda money.
