To all those people asking , you know how it is spent...servers, vent, forums, software/mods (eg. zombiemod, gameME).

Suri even listed it in his post.

I'd reckon the dedi's probably cost between $200 and $400 a month depending on what the deal is with wolfservers (this just of looking at their advertised prices, so actual price may be different).

There are also one-off payments as well.

And also, not all the funds always come straight from the donations, some is gifted to the community by some of the higher ups.

I have also been told money goes else where, and as some one who has donated to SG I would like a real answer of where all the donations go. If the higherups can't be honest about where the money goes I would ask people to 2nd guess their giving's.

It's a honest question that should be given a honest answer.

Goes to the pool in the vacation house in Europe, (all bought with the donation money) that the BDs swim in rather than working on SG community. Or it goes to the Drama Starting Prevention program we are working on. Your pick. If you want me to be more of a jerk that can be arranged. Cause I can cut pretty deep, so go ahead, keep it up. It'll be like last time.

the dedi's are currently running us between 450 and 500 bucks a month (i say approximately, because we have added and dropped specific stuff that has changed the cost dramatically between the bf2 dedi and the rented servers and them now being shut down.) we are looking at ways of reducing those costs, but that entails large server moves and major disruptions in service on the escape/mg dedi. Those costs would be saved only on the long term (greater then 6 months) due to having to run 3 dedis for at least a month to recoup maybe 70 bucks a month later on dedi hosting)

20 bucks for vent

.org and .com websites run somewhere around 30-50 a month depending on usage and such. I don't keep track of bor3d's fees and the alternate site host we use for .org

and fast downloads which is around 5 bucks a month.

that leaves things like server spy (which was dealing with our vent addon) which was like 20 or so. so a spare 5 bucks running around that i personally don't know where it goes, probably for the spare ip's we use or some such hosting bullshit. or to the actual costs of things being slightly higher then I am approximating.

seeing as a generously discounted rate for my services runs about 35 bucks an hour, if Sg was stockpiling spare cash you'd better believe id be submitting an invoice for something averaging 10+ hours a week when nothing hiccups and on bad weeks something like 72+ hours of work on the community (forums/servers)

most of us contributing spend most of our time unseen as a policy, If you dont see me busy then I am doing my job right, its all background noise that 90% of the community knows nothing about.

oh and i forgot the rest of unclaimed money goes to pay for my personal ball washing assistant. she visits every morning just to scrub my damn balls. and she has full healthcare benefits.

(bonus points to those of you who know what that's from)

Jager thank you for answering the question. It all I was asking for. Others took the low road with their reply, but thank you for taking the time to give a real answer.

the dedi's are currently running us....

Thank you for answering this for me Jager. Most of Jagers figures are close but he is a little on the high end and I no longer pay ServerSpy.net as they ripped me off and the site is abandoned.

I don't like to toss figures around as they change all the time and to be honest this is not something I feel needs to be public record. If you are someone who thinks I am miss managing this community then simply do not support it. Just know that when I put up a goal it is what I needed to keep the place running. If the community begins to miss the goals I will have to make cutbacks.

You have seen over past months that the goal changes based on over donations from previous months or when various expenses arise. That will continue to be common place for months to come. If the goal is ever higher then $700 I will explain to the community what we have purchased or plan to purchase that has made the goal go up.

I have been honest in the past when directly asked if I use any of the money for myself. I do use a small portion of the community funds for PC related items when needed. In the last year I replaced my power supply, purchased a Hard-drive, and recently got a new mouse. My gaming PC/Equipment is directly related to my ability to enjoy and run this community so I feel it necessary. I commonly purchase games we intend to host or test with community funds. That is a perk of having created this place and keeping it running. Call it my consulting fee and right as the owner. I would say that 96-97% of all donations go directly back into keeping the community running. Also keep in mind that Paypal is a greedy bitch. I lose about 5% of donations back to fees. If the goal is 600 I am really only collecting ~$570.00.
